The Coolpix 8700 is a complete digital solution with optional wide angle, tele photo and fisheye converter lenses available. 8 Megapixel CCD and 8x Optical Zoom-Nikkor Lens with ED Glass - Combining an 8x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens and an 8 Megapixel CCD provides the Coolpix 8700 with the true power of 8! RAW Image Data Recording Mode - Raw data from the CCD can be saved. These image files are slightly smaller than TIFF files and are saved in NEF, Nikon Electronic Image Format, without processing or compression, which preserves a high level of detail and allows for applying adjustments after the picture has been saved. AF Assist Illuminator - Offers extra light, allowing the camera to focus even when the subject is poorly lit.
