Folate supplementation can prevent or reverse cervical dysplasia, and can significantly improve the condition of depressed patients. Caution: Extra folic acid can mask the symptoms of vitamin B-12 deficiency, a problem of the elderly that can lead to permanent nerve damage if left untreated.
