Long coiling vines and tall verdant trees hide the remains of an ancient temple, its stone wall resilient to the passing of the centuries. "As I was walking round the area I found this place built by people a long time ago. In ancient times people used to live here, they are part of Thailand`s heritage and this is what I wish to convey in my canvas," confides Tawee Donpun. Like a giant monolith, the stone structure rises to the azure skies skillfully reproduced by Donpun with oil paints. The artist`s dynamic brushwork covers the canvas with images of Ob-Khan`s natural enchantment. An evocative piece imbued with the enigma of time passing by and the embrace of serenity. Donpun finds inspiration in Ob-Khan, within Chiang Mai province featuring a breathtaking scenery, river and waterfall, hot springs, and caves to attract curious historians. The region is inhabited by hill tribes and immigrants from Laos amongst other countries. "My faith in nature is never ending," Dunpon tells us. "Time passes by, it never returns and Nature is forever changing, which always makes me happy.
